Trash Day FAQ — launch questions answered
Full release October 13, 2026; price unannounced; 6-player online co-op; Steam-only at launch; demo progress carry-over unconfirmed.

Official answers, in plain English
The pinned developer FAQ collects the team's own answers. Here they are, translated out of press-release voice, plus the questions Steam players keep asking that the FAQ does not cover yet.
When can I play?
"When can I play something? Now — Go Play the Demo! October 13th, 2026 is Trash Day (Full Release)."
The free demo is live today. The full game unlocks October 13, 2026.
What does it cost?
Not announced. No price block on the store page, no number from the studio. See the release date page for what is and is not confirmed.
How many players?
Up to 6, online co-op. The demo supported 6, the full game says 6, and the balance assumes a crew — solo is possible but heavy.
Is there couch co-op / split screen?
Not committed, heavily requested. The FAQ's exact answer is on the roadmap page.
Which platforms?
Steam (PC) at launch only — the team is three people and chose to keep the release timeline honest. "Would love to reach more platforms later."
Will my demo progress carry over?
Unconfirmed. No published statement either way; plan for a fresh start. The good news: the first area is the demo area, so your skills carry even if your save does not.
Is the game always this chaotic?
Yes, but read it as "physics-forward," not "unserious." The chaos is the co-op design: you push, you stack, you re-stack, you flip the wagon back over. The wagon guide turns it into procedure.
Do I need friends to play?
You can play solo ("technically," says the store page), but the game is balanced for co-op and the wagon does not care about your feelings. Two players is a comfortable minimum.
How do I report bugs?
Press F11 in-game — the demo's own Next Fest note says reports go straight to the team.
Where do I keep up with updates?
The Steam news hub, which this site mirrors on the updates page. Six demo patches ran June–August 2026; launch patch notes get tracked there too.
Does this game have anything to do with other raccoon games?
It is its own thing — an original title from Off By One Games, inspired in tone by road-trip co-op games like RV There Yet? (a debt the FAQ cheerfully admits: "You caught us"). Any resemblance to other trash-based games is convergent evolution in a niche.
